Hi guys... i ve written all three gates from 2010 to 2012..

In 2010 my gate mark was 21/100 -- i got around some 5500-6000 rank... dont remember exactly...
paper was tough cause, it was my first gate attempt.... nicely set by guwahati.. cut off was 25(gen)...

In 2011, i gave my second attempt... my mark was 60/100... my rank was 749 to be exact...
Paper was damn easy,, but i failed to score..... as a result cut off went to 31/100(gen)...my friends got 70+(rank <200)... easily entred into IITs...simple as that..

This year 2012... i gave my 3rd and last attempt... i am getting 76.67/100 as per ace academy and 75.33/100 as per gateforum keys... paper was not easy as 2011, but also not as tough as 2010. so i think this year's cutoff would still remain the same... cause of two things..
1) Gate made as common entrance for all PSU's(as a result many ppl will write, so for iits to eliminate candidates they would set high cutoff....slick eh?)
2) No 3rd years writting..(but last years, 3rd year guys will come this year also... )

Final conclusion...

Unless u get above 65... its tough for u to get Mtech seats...

and above 50 for u to get MS seats...so anyone who come under this category, all the best for ur interview...prepare well.
